The Thipizumi Kiwi and Allied Food Processing Cluster, consisting of 600 dedicated farmers, is renowned for its vibrant production and processing of food items centered around Kiwi and Persimmon, alongside other seasonal fruits. This initiative, will be branded as "MUJO" (a trademark), highlights the region's agricultural excellence, turning local produce into high-quality products. Led by the Thipuzumi Kiwi Farming Cooperative Society Limited (Implementing Agency), the cluster fosters sustainable farming and strengthens the community's economic resilience.
The cluster comprises of over 800 committed farmers. The cluster is predominantly known for Red rice production, a staple crop of the region. Led by RGVN(Implementing Agency), the cluster aims to elevate the farmers and their heritage crop through innovative value addition. Focused on creating a diverse range of products, including Ready-to-Eat items, noodles, flat rice, mixtures, and traditional Assamese delicacies, the initiative highlights the cultural richness of Assam while enhancing local livelihoods.
The Majuli handloom cluster, with over 750 skilled weavers, is dedicated to enhancing production and diversifying its product portfolio. Led by the Rengam Industrial Women Cooperative Society (Implementing Agency), the cluster is committed to preserving traditional weaving techniques while exploring innovative designs. This initiative not only empowers local artisans but also aims to bring the rich cultural heritage of Majuli's handloom to a wider audience, blending tradition with contemporary fashion.
The Chayani, Kamrup cluster, comprising 600 dedicated farmers, is renowned for its rich spice cultivation, particularly black pepper and turmeric, alongside a variety of other local spices. Led by the Diya Foundation (Implementing Agency), the cluster aims to add value to its produce by specializing in ginger candy making and producing high-quality ground and whole turmeric and pepper. By focusing on these niche products, the initiative enhances the market reach and economic resilience of local farmers while celebrating Assam's flavorful spice heritage.
